Trello MCP and Claude skills
Pull cards, lists, due dates and recent moves from Trello boards, and report what got done, what is overdue and which cards have sat still too long.
Connect Trello to your agent (MCP)
- Trello MCP server, Atlassian's official remote server for Trello at
https://mcp.trello.com/v1, signed in with OAuth 2.0. On the consent screen you pick the workspaces and the Read, Write and Search permissions to grant. Trello is in Claude's connector directory, and Atlassian also documents ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI; in Claude Code,claude mcp add --transport http trello https://mcp.trello.com/v1(docs). Write access covers creating, moving and archiving cards and commenting; it doesn't delete. - REST API with a key and token. Create a Power-Up in the Trello Power-Up admin portal to get an API key, then authorize a token for your account with
scope=read. The skill readsTRELLO_API_KEYandTRELLO_TOKENand sends them as thekeyandtokenquery parameters.
Grant the MCP server Read and Search only, on the one workspace the report covers; a token authorized with scope=read can't create, move or comment on cards.

What agents do with Trello
Trello's REST API (https://api.trello.com/1) mirrors the board. GET /boards/{id}/lists gives the columns, GET /boards/{id}/cards gives every open card with name, idList, due, dueComplete, dateLastActivity, idMembers and labels, and GET /boards/{id}/actions?filter=updateCard:idList,createCard&since=... returns moves between lists and new cards since a date, which is how a report knows what reached Done this week. GET /members/me/cards lists the cards assigned to you across boards.
Small teams and freelancers schedule a weekly board summary (cards moved to Done, new cards, cards per list), overdue cards with their members, cards nobody has touched in two weeks, and a morning list of what is due today.
