Zoom MCP and Claude skills

Pull meeting summaries, next steps, recordings and attendance from Zoom, and post a daily digest of decisions and action items or a weekly meeting-load report.

Connect Zoom to your agent (MCP)

Zoom for Claude, Zoom's own connector in Claude's directory (MCP URL https://mcp.zoom.us/mcp/zoom/streamable). It searches meetings, chat and docs, and fetches AI Companion summaries, transcripts, next steps, recordings and playback links. It needs a licensed user on a paid Zoom Workplace plan, works best with Smart Recording and Meeting Summary turned on, and sees only meetings you hosted or were given access to. Connectors added in claude.ai also appear in Claude Code when you sign in with that account (docs).
Zoom MCP servers in other clients. Zoom's MCP servers use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE but don't support dynamic client registration, so you create a General app in the Zoom App Marketplace, add the scopes listed for the server's tools, and give the client that app's ID and secret. In Claude Code, claude mcp add takes them with --client-id and --client-secret (docs).
REST API with a Server-to-Server OAuth app. Build one in the Marketplace, add only read scopes for recordings, meetings and reports, and store ZOOM_ACCOUNT_ID, ZOOM_CLIENT_ID and ZOOM_CLIENT_SECRET; the skill exchanges them for a token at https://zoom.us/oauth/token with grant_type=account_credentials.

A Server-to-Server app reads across the whole account, so give it read scopes only and nothing it doesn't report on.

What agents do with Zoom

Zoom's REST API (https://api.zoom.us/v2) covers what happened in meetings. GET /users/me/recordings?from=...&to=... lists cloud recordings, transcript files included; GET /past_meetings/{meetingUUID}/participants returns who joined and for how long; AI Companion meeting summaries, with next steps, come from the meeting summary endpoints; and GET /report/users returns active hosts with their meeting counts, participants and minutes for a date range. Summaries and transcripts exist only when AI Companion's Meeting Summary or cloud recording with transcripts is on for the meeting.

People schedule a morning digest of yesterday's meeting summaries and action items, follow-ups owed after customer calls, a weekly count of hours in meetings per person, and attendance for webinars and all-hands meetings.
